Phonons in moiré systems

PARPHOM

In moiré systems, first principles computations of phonons is prohibitively expensive due to the large number of atoms in the unit cell. A suitable workaround to first principles calculations have been found by using classical force fields, fitted against DFT calculations, that give accurate phononic band structures. The currently available codes utilizing these force fields are not equipped to handle large systems. We have written a highly parallelized package, PARPHOM, for computing the phonon bands in moiré systems with tens of thousands of atoms.
